Hamburg-Kredit Innovation providing low-interest loans for local SMEs and freelancers

SMEe, freelancers and sole traders in Hamburg can now avail of  low-interest loans for their innovative projects. The Hamburg-Kredit Innovation, a new loan by the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Innovation (BWAI) and the Hamburg Investment and Development Bank (IFB Hamburg), provides local businesses with loans between €25,000 and €2.5 million. The terms are up to ten years, with a maximum repayment-free period of two years.

Hamburg-Kredit Digital supports digitalisation

The new loans can be used for individual innovation projects and for the overall financing of a company, IFB Hamburg said. The scheme is being refinanced from the KfW's "ERP-Förderkredit Innovation" scheme. Applications for the Hamburg-Kredit Innovation scheme can be submitted via the borrower's main bank. The Hamburg-Kredit Digital supports SMEs and freelancers with digitalisation. Both loans boost innovation and strengthen the competitiveness as set out in the coalition agreement. In addition to these loans, entrepreneurs and freelancers can also apply for an European Recovery Programme (ERP) grant from KfW. This comes to a maximum of 5 per cent of the disbursed loan amount and up to a maximum of €200,000.
