Trade Fair

EXPO REAL is the most important trade fair for the real estate industry and therefore offers a fully comprehensive overview of developments, topics, innovations and solutions in the real estate industry. In this way, it provides the necessary orientation in a time of upheaval.

Stand

With over 600 m² of space and more than 50 partners, the Hamburg-Stand is one of the largest stands at the trade fair. For more than 25 years, it has offered companies and institutions the opportunity to present themselves under Hamburg's strong umbrella.

Dear Readers,

The real estate industry continues to face challenging times. High construction costs, complex requirements and changing economic conditions are placing considerable demands on the sector. At the same time, we have moved beyond the low point of 2023 and are seeing an increase in the number of building permits. Now is the time to work together to create momentum for a sustainable recovery.

Hamburg offers excellent conditions for this. Our city is growing and remains an attractive and reliable real estate location for investors, project developers and the industry as a whole. Hamburg combines economic strength, a high quality of life and a clear focus on the future.

Hamburg’s development would not be possible without a strong real estate industry. Together, we want to continue moving Hamburg forward and create the residential and working spaces our growing city needs. To achieve this, we must bring together feasibility, economic viability and quality.

A key factor is finding ways to make construction simpler, faster and more cost-effective again. With the Hamburg Standard, we have embarked on a new approach: clear standards, less complexity and a focus on what matters most – without compromising on quality or sustainability. This approach is already being tested in pilot projects, including the Wilhelmsburg Rathausviertel district, where around 1,900 new homes are being built.

I am particularly pleased that Hamburg can now share its experience across Germany. The digital platform “Kostenreduziertes Bauen” (“Cost-Reduced Construction”) makes it possible to share knowledge and successful approaches across state borders. We are harnessing collective expertise across Germany’s federal states: what works in one place can also be applied elsewhere. This saves time, personnel resources and, ultimately, costs. Hamburg, in turn, can also benefit from the insights and experience of other federal states.

As an international trade fair for real estate and investment, EXPO REAL is the ideal place to discuss these developments, strengthen partnerships and develop new perspectives. Especially now, we need dialogue between policymakers, the real estate industry and everyone involved in shaping our cities.
