Key dates in autumn 2024 and 2025

The AI Summit on September 2, 2024 takes experts and users into the future of artificial intelligence. The Chamber of Commerce, Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg e.V. and the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Hamburg are pooling expertise and mediation skills to promote Hamburg as an AI hub.

AI.Hamburg increases the knowledge and use of AI, especially machine learning, in the region. SMEs in particular are backed by AI use cases and smart solutions. This year's AI.Hamburg events will link up with Hamburg Messe’s big trade fairs in September and November.

Scoopcamp, organised by nextmedia.Hamburg, brings publishers at the interface of media and the digital industry together on September 11, 2024 to discuss the future of journalism.

"Innovations made in Hamburg" is the motto of the Hamburg Innovation Summit (HHIS). Then, innovators will meet in the Oberhafenquartier on September 12, 2024 to tackle all the local challenges and advance global change through networking, collaboration and joint ventures. 

The Web Summit, one of the largest international innovation, start-up and technology conference, gets underway from November 11-14, 2024 in Lisbon. More than 70,000 delegates and companies from over 160 countries are expected to redefine the technology industry.

The gaming scene comes together for Gamescom, the world's largest trade fair for computer and video games and consumer electronics in Cologne, from August 21-25, 2024.

The Polaris Convention gets underway in Hamburg from October 11-13, 2024 focusing on gaming, anime, manga and Asian pop culture. Expect all kinds of influencers, streamers, game developers and musicians, fans and numerous exhibitors. The amusement park-style event will spread out over five exhibition halls this year. 

Visitors to Hamburg's Reeperbahn Festival in St. Pauli can look forward to four days of music and newcomers as well as plenty of space for international cross-industry networking. Europe's largest club festival is THE meeting place for the global music scene from September 18 -21, 2024.  Republica, the conference on the digital society with emphasis on net culture, politics, weblogs and other social media gets underway in Hamburg from September 19-21, 2024. Panel discussions, lectures, workshops and performances will be held on three stages in the Heiligengeistfeld. At the same time, the Next Conference will bring together the European digital industry on September 19, 2024. Emphasis is on AI, new interfaces, creativity and transformation. "Curtain up!" is the motto from September 26 to October 5, 2024, when the Filmfest Hamburg enters its 32nd edition. The program includes 120 films from almost 50 countries, including world premieres, European premieres and German premieres.

The Aidia Pitch (September 7, 2024) is aimed specifically at Black entrepreneurs and founders and gives them an opportunity to present all their latest ideas, business models and visions for the future and to make contacts.

Founders and potential entrepreneurs can network with start-ups, companies and investors at Bits & Pretzels (September 29-October 1, 2024) in Munich which coincides with the world-famous Oktoberfest (September 21-October 6). On October 1, 2024 5,000 founders will flock to the real Oktoberfest where 250 industry experts will be manning the tables. 

Job seekers including managers, students, graduate, career changers and young professionals  should find suitable job offers during Career Days in Hamburg. The free event gets underway in the Congress Center Hamburg on October 1, 2024 and on April 29, 2025 and October 16, 2025. Avail of application checks, photo assessments, coaching sessions and attend presentations on applications, jobs and careers. An online career day for the digital sector gets underway on October 17, 2024. Attendance is free of charge. 

The Slush Helsinki 2024 gets underway from November 21-20, 2024. The meet is one of the largest start-up events in Europe and has long since become a platform for forging new links, exploring investment opportunities and presenting innovative business ideas. The Open Mouth Hamburg Food Festival gets underway from September 12-16, 2024 when producers and restaurateurs present all kinds of food and delicacies from Hamburg and its metropolitan region in different venues. The aim is to set up a unique platform that unites people through food, culture and community. Other food events such as the Hamburg Beer Week will also get underway from September 12-15, 2024 as part of the Open Mouth Food Festival.

All the latest trends, strategies and technologies will take centre stage during the Sustainability Summer from September 18-19, 2024. Emphasis is on boosting corporate sustainability and future-proofing efforts.

Encouraging companies to invest in sustainability will top the agenda of the first Hamburg Sustainability Conference underway from October 7-8, 2024. Following the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, the Hamburg Sustainability Conference aims to establish a new platform to accelerate the implementation of the SDGs and provide solutions.

Wind Energy Hamburg brings the international wind industry together with international wind industry associations from  September 24-27, 2024.

The following month, Hamburg will host the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe from October 23- 24, 2024  for the first time. More than 500 national and international exhibitors are expected to meet and present all their latest innovations.

The Shipbuilding, Machinery and Marine Technology (SMM) is the international trade fair for the maritime industry and will bring Movers and shakers together from September 3 to 6, 2024.

The biannual Hamburg Aviation Forum is a firm fixture in the aviation sector and gets underway on October 17, 2024  in Hotel Hafen Hamburg. Then, aviation professionals will meet to discuss all the latest issues in the industry, attend various presentations and to forge contacts.  Airbus, Lufthansa Technik, Hamburg Airport and more than 300 other companies with over 40,000 employees in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region are part of Hamburg Aviation.

The Expo Real gets underway on October 7-9, 2024 in Munich. Hamburg-based companies will also be at the annual international trade fair for property and investment.

"Get Nord" is the motto of the trade fair for electrical, sanitary, heating and air conditioning in Hamburg's exhibition halls. Around 600 national and international exhibitors will present all their latest products, systems and services from November 21-23, 2024.

Creative industries 

Hamburg Open is the industry get-together for the global broadcast and media technology sector and gets underway from January  15-16, 2025 in Hamburg's exhibition halls. The event is also open to employees of commercial and public broadcasters as well the production and event sector. Every year, the Online Marketing Rockstars Festival (OMR) turns Hamburg into a hotspot of the digital and marketing world. Keynote speakers, industry experts, founders and investors in marketing will present all the latest digital trends on May 6-7, 2025.

Food

Internorga is the leading international trade fair for the out-of-home market and gets underway from March 14-18, 2025 in Hamburg's exhibition halls. The Gastro Vision also unfolds in the Empire Riverside Hotel from March 14-17, 2025 and will bring together decision-makers in the hotel, restaurant and catering industry. 

Aviation

The spotlight turns to cabin interiors when the Aircraft Interiors Expo gets underway from April 8-10, 2025 in Hamburg's exhibition halls. AIX is considered the world's leading marketplace for airlines and the supply chain. International companies will be presenting all their latest innovations there.

Mobility

Hamburg will again host the world's largest public transport congress, UITP from June 15-18, 2025. Everything will then revolve around the mobility transition in local public transport.

Hyvolution is France's leading hydrogen trade fair. Experts from all over Europe including Hamburg-based companies will be meeting in Paris from January 28-30, 2025.  The MIPIM gets underway in Cannes from March 11-14, 2025 and will bring together stakeholders across the international real estate industry.
