Numerous events such as the "Talent Talk" in the Chamber of Commerce on June 23, 2025 aim to attract skilled workers from India. The business development agency, Hamburg Invest, will host a day-long event on June 23 entitled "Innovate with India: Invest. Partner. Access" with keynotes, presentations and panels on joint investments in sustainability, digital transformation and partnerships. The "Annual Meeting @ Hamburg-India Business Day" on June 24 under the theme of "Accelerating Economic Partnership" features panel discussions on innovation, trade and logistics. An evening reception on "Indo-German Innovation" will feature keynotes and panels, and give delegates ample opportunity to network and for discussions on technology transfer, innovation, and AI. Visitors can also look forward to sporting, cultural and political events throughout the week.

India Week to focus on economic partnership

Amita Desai, the HamburgAmbassador to Hyderabad, and Prashant Rao HamburgAmbassador to Bangalore, are turning India Week 2025 into a lively bridge between Hamburg and India. Desai will bring together German and Indian artists for an art exhibition and interview Indian acting icon Shabana Azmi. Rao will highlight the economic aspect of the German-Indian relations. To this end, he will moderate a forward-looking panel on investment and market access at the “Innovate with India” event on June 23, 2025.
Flourishing trade
"India is one of the world's most dynamic economies and is now one of our most important partners in the Indo-Pacific region. Many Indian companies have settled in Hamburg and are contributing to the well-being of our city," Tschentscher stressed. Around 70 Indian companies including the IT service provider, Tata Consultancy Services and LTI Mindtree GmbH are based in Hamburg, according to Hamburg Invest. Companies such as refrigerant manufacturer Gujarat Fluorochemicals and GFCL EV of the Inox Group, the logistics company TKM Global GmbH, Solverminds GmbH and the life sciences companies Lorven Biologics Germany GmbH and Ortho Heal GmbH are also based in Hamburg. India has a cutting edge in terms of technology and global innovation and is home to the world's third-largest startup ecosystem.
Eleven liner services transport containers between the Port of Hamburg and India. Trade between Germany and India has grown for years and imports almost doubled between 2015 and 2022, according to the Federal Statistical Office. Goods worth around EUR 17 billion were exported to India 2024.
