Hamburg Airport flying to new destinations in 2024

Eurowings flying direct to three new destinations, Qatar Airlines flying daily to Doha from July

Eurowings is offering two new direct flights per week to Tromsø in Norway and Erbil in Iraq from Hamburg Airport. Tromsø is now reachable in  three hours and Erbil in five hours. Commenting on the new Hamburg-Doha flight from July 2024, Christian Kunsch, newly appointed CEO of Hamburg Airport, said: "A large number of long-haul destinations will be even easier to reach in future. At the same time, Hamburg will be even more accessible for people from all over the world." 

Three more direct destinations from Hamburg Airport 

Eurowings is also flying direct to Manchester in England, Jerez de la Frontera in Spain and Zakynthos in Greece from Hamburg. Four flights per week are planned from Hamburg to Manchester beginning in late March. The airline will fly direct twice a week from Hamburg to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain beginning in April and from May 5 once a week to the island of Zakynthos. Eurowings' routes from Hamburg Airport will then comprise a total of 60 direct destinations, including many European holiday destinations.

New Hamburg-Doha connection

A new long-haul connection from Hamburg to Doha is ready. "Qatar Airways, one of the largest global airlines is taking off here in the north, which underlines the importance of Hamburg as a travel and business destination," said Michael Eggenschwiler, who was CEO of Hamburg Airport until the end of 2023. A daily flight from Hamburg to Doha Qatar will be available from July. Passengers have access to 170 destinations worldwide from Hamad International Airport in Doha and can fly from there to Asia, Africa and Australia, the Maldives, Bangkok, Cape Town, Chengdu in China, Goa in India or Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Qatar Airways will operate Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a modern long-haul aircraft, on the new route.
