The Hamburg Metropolitan Region, Süderelbe AG and partners have analysed the transport needs of companies and come up with more efficient, environment-friendly and cost-effective solutions in the "Corporate Mobility Management" real-world laboratory.

"Sustainable mobility contributes to the mobility transition and gives companies a competitive edge. Our practical laboratory shows how innovative approaches can be implemented," said Olaf Krüger, CEO of Süderelbe AG, at the close of the "Corporate Mobility Management" laboratory. Emphasis was on encouraging the use of bicycles, improved networking g of transport modes and introducing mobility budgets. Feldbinder Spezialfahrzeugwerke GmbH, Raisa eG, Viebrockhaus AG and Gesundheitsholding Lüneburg GmbH, which were backed by Süderelbe AG, presented examples such as expanded use of bicycles with parking facilities and leasing offers, job tickets as an alternative to the car and mobile applications for co-ordinating mobility offers.

Mobility management for entire metropolitan region

The laboratory was set up  as part of the "Mobility Management" lead project in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. In other real-world labs, measures have been developed for business parks, schools and day-care centres in rural area. The aim is to change transport behaviour and make sustainable mobility attractive. The results of the project will be incorporated into a digital tool to encourage businesses
