More airlines offering daily flights to European sunspots - eight new routes

Hamburg Airport is gearing up for the busy summer season with an expanded flight network from March 31 to October 25, 2024. Then, 55 airlines will fly to 120 direct destinations and will offer several daily flights to popular holiday destinations in Spain and Turkey among others..

Non-stop to Doha with Qatar Airways from July

Demand for air travel is high, especially in the holiday segment. Apart from sunny destinations, long-haul holiday destinations are also popular," said Katja Bromm, Head of Communications at Hamburg Airport. To meet this demand, Qatar Airways will fly non-stop to Doha every day from July 1. Passengers just have to transfer once only to reach destinations in Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand from Doha. Eurowings is also launching a new route from Hamburg Airport and will fly four times a week to Manchester from March 31. Hungary’s Wizz Air will also fly to Rome four times a week while Tunisia’s Nouvelair will fly direct to Tunis twice a week from April 1. Maiden flights will be operated to the Tunisian island of Djerba, Jerez de la Frontera in Spain from April 30 and to the Greek island of Zakynthos from May 5. Air Baltic will fly non-stop to Vilnius from May 2 and Chisinau in Moldova will also return to Hamburg Airport’s route network.

More flights to popular destinations

Airlines are offering 14 per cent more flights to the island of Majorca  - up to 12 times a day - this year. Flights to holiday regions in Spain and Greece will be more frequent in future and Finnair will fly direct Helsinki up to three times a day. Hamburg Airport is also returning former destinations to its network after the winter break. Spain’s Volotea airline will fly to Florence from late March and to Lyon and Bordeaux from April. A new flight to Nantes in France will be added from September 17.
