Apply now for Cross Innovation Class 2026

22 October 2025
Deadline for Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft's event ends on February 28, 2026

The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft is accepting applications for its next Cross Innovation Class (CIC) until the deadline of February 28, 2026. Companies and public institutions that would like to carry out a project with students in different disciplines to come up with prototypes are invited to enter. In the past, such joint work has resulted in recyclable pallets, an automatic waste separation system or a tool for citizen participation in public spaces. The next CIC (April to June 2026) will focus on sustainable innovations.

Developing innovative cross-disciplinary ideas

The partner universities of CIC 2026 include the Computer Science degree course at the University of Applied Sciences Wedel, the Product Design degree course at the Hamburg Academy of Fashion & Design, the Brand Strategy degree course at Brand University and the Environmental Sciences degree course at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. The CIC is open to companies of all sizes regardless of sector that are keen to develop innovative, sustainable ideas in cross-disciplinary teams. Different areas of expertise can be inputted to come up with a functioning prototype. The class boosts the transfer of knowledge between commerce, science and the creative scene.

Cross Innovation in Hamburg

The Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft's cross-innovation approach brings companies and creative minds together to develop innovative solutions from concept to market launch. Experts in aviation, logistics or the energy industry meet design, music, theatre, advertising or game developers. Interdisciplinary collaboration takes centre stage. The overriding goal is to come up with new impetus for the economy or the public sector. All these interdisciplinary events are pooled in the Cross Innovation Hub. Meanwhile, the Cross Innovation Lab in which companies and institutions develop products, processes or services with experts gets underway in November 2025 and will enter the next round in spring 2026.
