The new Michelin-starred restaurants include the "Atlantic Restaurant" and the "Petit Amour", two upscale restaurants with French cuisine, as well as a north German restaurant, "The Lisbeth" all of which are among the stars of Hamburg’s thriving culinary scene. "The Table" managed by Kevin Fehling held onto its three stars followed by "100/200 Kitchen", "Bianca", "Lakeside" and the "Haerlin" in the Hotel Vierjahreszeiten with two stars each. Five one-star restaurants also kept their accolade.
The Michelin Guide has awarded stars to three restaurants in Hamburg bringing the total of starred restaurants this year to 340. The award is great news for Hamburg which prides itself as a thriving food centre. Several restaurants managed to keep their existing stars. One star indicates "a very good restaurant", two stars are awarded for "excellent cooking” while three stars mean "exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey”.

Open Mouth festival focusing on sustainability
Five restaurants in Hamburg won a "Green Star" for their commitment to sustainability. The accolade outlines the importance of organic and ecologically produced products, regionality and seasonality which will take centre stage during the “Open Mouth Food Festival" from September 12-16, 2024. Then, visitors can savour regional delicacies and learn more about sustainable nutrition.
