Surface drone in Port of Hamburg

Port’s autonomous drone “Echo 1” surveying water

 

The small surface drone with echo sounder is highly manoeuverable. Thanks to its shallow draft, the drone can take measurements in places that conventional sounding ships cannot reach. The video by the Hamburg Port Authority highlights aspects that have to be clarified before an autonomous drone can operate in the busy Port of Hamburg.
