About half of the 250 performing artists and acts are international names including RY X (Australia), Daughters of Reykjavík (Iceland), Working Men's Club (Britain) and Suzane (France). South Korea is this year's partner country. Sting will present "Rushing Water", the world premiere of a track from his upcoming album, during the opening on September 22. German soul and R&B singer Joy Denalane will play the first concert at the Stage Operettenhaus.
This year's Reeperbahn Festival gets underway from September 22 to 25 and visitors can look forward to "four exciting days full of music" in Hamburg, the organizers said in a statement. Around 300 concerts are scheduled at 35 venues on St. Pauli and the line-up is "more extensive and international" despite pandemic-induced restrictions. The festival gives artists, musicians and those in the creative industries numerous networking opportunities.

Diverse programme planned
The Reeperbahn Festival has brought music, business and society together in Hamburg since 2006. Clubs, concert halls, cinemas, galleries and off-spaces on St. Pauli become venues during the festival. Apart from the many music acts, the agenda features readings, film screenings and exhibitions as well as panels, lectures, galas, award ceremonies and networking events for professionals. The "Hamburg Haus" set up by the Interessengemeinschaft Hamburger Musikwirtschaft (IHM), offers artists, companies and institutions a space to network and present themselves.
