The high quality of the projects submitted prompted the awarding committee to fully use the prototype funding budget available for 2022 in this funding round. Dennis Schoubye, Head of Gamecity Hamburg, spoke of a "positive dynamic in the quality of applications for prototype funding", adding, "We also see positive effects from other support programmes like our Games Lift Incubator and our new event format 'Pitch Level Up'." Three of the funded projects stem from teams and developers who have previously completed the Games Lift Incubator.
