Hamburg Airport's health protection measures for passengers

Passengers at Hamburg Airport can purchase face masks as well as hygiene wipes and sprays from vending machines in the terminals. Contact persons and additional cleaning teams in the terminals have also been put in place to answer passengers' queries. The airport is expecting a gradual increase in flights and passengers after travel restrictions were relaxed across Europe on Monday (June 15, 2020). Clear regulations on social-distancing and increased hygiene measures means the airport is well prepared for the resumption of holiday traffic.

Hygiene and distance

Plexiglas panels, disinfectant dispensers, posters and markings have been put in place to help passengers comply with the hygiene rules at the airport. Mobile service teams are on site in the terminals and on passenger piers to inform travelers about the latest rules on social-distancing and compulsory masks. The airlines' mobile check-ins, check-in desks and self-bag drop machines are available for contactless check-in. The markings on the benches remind passengers to keep sufficient distance from other travellers.

Refurbished airport lounge opens

The refurbished airport lounge in the Airport Plaza is also reopening in time for the resumption of flights. Passengers can now enjoy newly designed seating areas with a top view of the apron.
