ITA Airways, successor to Alitalia, to take off daily from Hamburg starting in late March - business travellers key target group

Hamburg Airport is increasing the flights on offer at the start of the summer flight schedule. From 27 March, the Italian airline ITA Airways will be linking the city with Milan Linate, the airport authorities have announced. Milan Linate is the northern Italian metropolis’s second airport after Milan Malpensa and is closer to the centre. “Our passengers will be able to travel to the centre of Milan rapidly and in comfort after arriving at Milan Linate city airport. Business travellers are particularly happy with the location,” Hamburg Airport Aviation head Dirk Behrens says.

ITA Airways: daily flights planned to Milan Linate

ITA Airways has since October 2021 been Italy's new national airline and the successor to Alitalia, which became insolvent. The airline has stated that it is basing itself at two hubs in Italy: Rome for intercontinental flights and Milan Linate for European destinations and onward flights within Italy. The focus here is on holiday and business travellers. From 27 March, ITA Airways flights will take off from Milan Linate at 12:20 pm, landing in Hamburg almost two hours later at 2:00 pm, according to Hamburg Airport. The return flight takes off from Hamburg at 2:50 pm, landing at Milan Linate at 4:30 pm. The route will be served with Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.
