The Hanseatic city showed how nature, urban life and especially life by the sea go hand in hand and portrayed Hamburg as the "pearl of the north". The city's coastline and cranes in the Port of Hamburg welcomed visitors with typical harbour sounds, a sailor and the traditional Hanseatic "moin" greeting. A sandy beach by the Elbe was dotted with a ship propeller, driftwood, seaweed and an old suitcase. Moving images shone the spotlight on Hamburg and sights in the city and its partners. Visitors also had an opportunity to play a contactless lottery to win one of three trips to Hamburg. These events are all part of the campaign to restart tourism in Hamburg and boost the sector under the theme "Because we are Hamburg".
