"I am particularly pleased to receive this award because we developed the digital strategy for Hamburg with all the authorities and with the participation of various municipal institutions," said Christian Pfromm, Chief Digital Officer of Hamburg. "We have created a solid, future-orientated basis on which to shape digitalisation in our city."
The senate chancellery shared first prize with North Rhine-Westphalia's Ministry of Economics, Innovation, Digitalisation and Energy, which won the prize for a blockchain project. Hamburg's digital strategy came fourth in the so-called Audience Award, which was determined by an online vote in German-speaking countries.
