Try living and working in the countryside - Kathleen Bartels, Mayor of Grabow, outlines special "Summer of Pioneers" experiment

Our latest Future Hamburg Talk with Kathleen Bartels, Mayor of Grabow, highlights a unique experiment underway in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. Around 20 creatives and digital nomads have been trying out rural life in the small Mecklenburg town of Grabow since early May as part of the “Summer of Pioneers” scheme. The goal is to lure city dwellers to the area with an all-round carefree package. In return, the pioneers are expected to work towards a more vibrant Grabow for everyone and to carry out joint projects with residents. The six-month trial phase of living and working is underway between Hamburg and Berlin and ends on October 31, 2024.
