Women's financial literacy to take centre stage on February 5, 2025

Finance City Hamburg is gearing up to host a new event for young women aged 16 to 25 years on February 5, 2025 in Hamburg's FABRIC. The "Your money, your move" themed event is a joint project by the Ministry of Finance, the Chamber of Commerce and Finanzplatz e. V. The agenda features masterclasses and a panel discussion on the realities of financial life. Registrations are being now accepted free of charge.

Focus on finances and women

"Financial education is extremely important, especially for young people. A sound knowledge of financial matters is key to a self-determined, independent life," said Andreas Dressel, Senator for Finance. Emphasis is on asset building, financial psychology and the basics of personal finance. "The more women take control of their finances, the more equality and empowerment is promoted in society as a whole," Dressel added.

More women in financial sector

Apart from financial literacy, the event will highlight different perspectives and encourage young women to pursue a career in the financial sector. Participants can also learn about possible career opportunities
