"The ‘Hamburg Loan' sends a clear signal about the importance of digitalisation for Hamburg's economy and filling a gap in the funding landscape," said Ralf Sommer, CEO of IFB. The path to digitalisation has sometimes been difficult for SMEs especially when investments are needed, said Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Economics. This is precisely where the "Hamburg-Kredit Digital's low-interest loans come in. Companies and freelancers can also avail of a digital check to determine the potential for digitalisation. The city is offering a loan of €7,500 for this purpose.
