The games earmarked for funding are "Castle Town" by Sviper, "Mambio" by Neurodactics and "Cr4nkup" by the developer studio of the same name. The Castle Town game is designed for mobile phones and encourages players to build towns in medieval settings and to optimise large scale supply chains. Mambio is an inclusive game for primary schoolchildren and promotes mathematics as fun to make it easier for children with disabilities to learn arithmetic. The indoor training game, Cr4nkup, combines real indoor cycling training with a virtual world to encourage professional and hobby cyclists to interact with other players. Castle Town gets EUR 89,000 and Mambio and Cr4nkup EUR 40,000 each, according to Gamecity Hamburg.
Three games projects developed in Hamburg are to receive EUR 160,000 in prototype funding during the second round of funding this year, Gamecity Hamburg announced. The funds will allow the start-ups to launch on the highly-competitive games market and increase the diversity of computer games at the same time.

"Both of this year's funding rounds have shown us impressively the great dynamism in Hamburg's games industry. We were impressed by the diversity of the submissions," said Dennis Schoubye, Head of the Gamecity Hamburg and member of the awarding committee. A total of eleven start-ups, games companies and solo developers had applied for the second round of prototype funding which comes to around EUR 400,000 p.a. in Hamburg The next application phase starts in March 2022.
