Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft and nextMedia.Hamburg opened Monday (September 4, 2023) the new "Space" innovation centre in Hamburg's Speicherstadt to come up with solutions to challenges facing media in the age of digitalisation and artificial intelligence. Companies, start-ups and the self-employed in media, advertising, music or games technology can apply for free workspaces there.

What to expect in "Space
The 600 square metre "Space" on the seventh floor of the M28 warehouse offers room for collaboration, creating content, events and talks. Creatives in the media and technology sectors can work jointly on solutions for forward-looking issues. Emphasis is on funding media offers and using technologies such as metaverse or AI through various open community events on site or by booking free, daily workspaces. nextMedia.Hamburg plans to launch events on AI from the fourth quarter of 2023 in the "Space" and will invite people to share their ideas regularly.
Broad support for the innovation space from the industry
The partners of "Space" include the Hamburg-based publishers Carlsen Verlag, the production company Rocket Beans, the media company Ströer, Google, Meta and the creative agency Jung von Matt as well as the Artificial Intelligence Center Hamburg (ARIC) and nextReality.Hamburg The 15 start-ups in theMedia Lift, Games Lift and Music WorX incubators can also work on their business models on site. The "Space" is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) scheme and Hamburg's Ministry of Culture and Media. The "Space" offers an opportunity to bundle the innovative potential of the creative industries and make them visible, according to Egbert Rühl, Managing Director of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft.
