"The nomination alone is a great signal for Hochbahn and a further incentive. It shows that we are on the right path to a sustainable future with our strategy," said Henrik Falk, CEO of Hamburger Hochbahn, which hopes to become climate neutral by 2030. To achieve this, underground trains and e-buses will be powered by green electricity, and the bus fleet including infrastructure is being converted to zero-emission drives. On top of that, Germany's second-largest public transport company recently joined Electronics Watch's Low Emission Vehicle Program. The Dutch NGO advises Hochbahn on the procurement of e-buses and checks the supply and production chains of the electrical industry for sustainable and fair conditions. Hochbahn is expanding its network and supplementing traditional public transport with services such as autonomous on-demand shuttles.
