The nextMedia.Hamburg initiative and "Neue Narrative" publishing have launched the new platform for founders and media professionals. The platform offers free tools for developing, planning and project management and lends support amid a changing industry and drives novel ideas for the digital market.

Leap into independent digital publishing

"The leap into independent digital publishing offers journalists a great opportunity. We want to encourage this by offering tailor-made support for concrete entrepreneurial measures," said Dr Carsten, Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media. "We at nextMedia are giving media producers guidance on how good content, innovative business models and modern work structures can be assembled into a new media offer or added to existing corporate structures," said Nina Klaß, Head of nextMedia.Hamburg.

22 learning curves

The new platform offers 22 learning curves for building up a media company. The courses are adapted and supplemented to allow media and start-ups handle all the latest industrial challenges. The website offers media professionals help with founding, organisational issues, product development as well as content and marketing. A basic course covers everything from brainstorming to financial planning and includes instructions, sample materials and exercises. Start-ups can copy and use customized working templates free of charge.
