Germany is also highly innovative and the City of Hamburg is pursuing several approaches to shape the economy and life innovatively, intelligently and sustainably. German and Danish business representatives will come together at the Hamburg Copenhagen Business Forum (HCBF) on August 25, 2021 in Copenhagen to present best practices, discuss strategies and to make valuable contacts. Under the motto "Joining Forces for Green Growth", emphasis will be on challenges to the energy transition, green transport, green buildings and digital health. The knowledge and insights gained on day one can be enhanced on August 26, 2021 if delegates so wish. HCBF's agenda also includes visits to the "House of Green" - a showroom targeting international visitors and which fosters talks about exchanging knowledge and advancing ecological transformation across the globe.
Digital transformation in Denmark is enjoyable. The digital coronavirus pass, digital services or cashless payment make life easier and better, according to Reiner Perau, Managing Director of the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce. And Copenhagen also has stylish cycle paths and a CO2-neutral ski slope. "Danes are optimistic and like to try out new things - thus the innovations. Yet, they are also strong implementers," he noted.

Hamburg Invest as partner and organizer of start-up session
The largest German-Danish business conference is organised by the Chamber of Commerce Hamburg, the German-Danish Chamber of Commerce and Dansk Industri. Hamburg Invest is also a partner and now organising a start-up session. Hamburg Invest's Startup-Unit is the main point of contact for all queries about financing, key events, networks and offers for start-ups in Hamburg. This year, the Breeze and Cirplus start-ups will pitch their ideas to international investors. Breeze Technologies, based in Hamburg and Copenhagen, is one of the technology leaders for air quality sensors, data and analyses and won first prize at the Future Hamburg Award 2021 in June.
Meanwhile, Cirplus is dedicated to fighting plastic waste. One of the world's most pressing environmental problems is facing a booming recyclate market, i.e. the reuse of old plastic as a raw material for production. Cirplus has developed a platform to bring recycling companies and plastics processors together. Founded in 2018, the Hamburg-based start-up was one of the finalists of the Future Hamburg Award.
Jens-Peter Saul, HamburgAmbassador, to host cultural event
Jens-Peter Saul will give an opening keynote on the topic of "Sustainability - the driver for future growth in the region". Saul is the CEO of the Ramboll Group, one of Europe's leading engineering and consulting groups, and has been HamburgAmbassador to Copenhagen since 2015. He will also be hosting the Move the North cultural event on August 24, 2021 to bring artists and musicians in the cities of Hamburg, Copenhagen and Malmö together. Move the North features "Danish Folk meets German Classics" and will see Sono Tokuda and Valentin Priebus, both of whom are musicians with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, perform with the multi-award-winning Danish folk band Stundom in Copenhagen.
