Turkish Airlines has also resumed the popular Hamburg to Istanbul connection five times a week, initially. The airline has been offering the flight to the city all year round since June 12. Istanbul is popular for city trips and offers a wide range of transfer options to Asia, Africa and other destinations in Turkey.
Turkish Airlines is expanding its flights from Hamburg Airport in time for the summer season and has added Elazig, Gaziantep, Kayseri and Samsun in addition to Adana, Ankara and Izmir to destinations reached from Hamburg Airport. Weekly flights are being operated from June 20 to September 6, 2020 on the routes. However, the German Foreign Office has warned holidayers not to travel to Turkey owing to coronavirus. "Trips to parts of Turkey should be planned cautiously. The Foreign Office still warns against visits for tourist purposes due to the spread of COVID-19."
