Those interested can attend talks online and learn, for instance, how to build a flight simulator at home and what is behind the term artificial intelligence. The highlights include workshops on "Building a Glider", "Flight Bionics" and "Why can an aeroplane fly?" The "YOTA Springboard" career and course guidance section gives young people insight into the aviation industry and takes them on digital tours of companies e.g., Spitzner Engineers, ProtoSpace, Lufthansa Technik. They can also meet air traffic controllers, Hamburg Airport's fire brigade and learn more about a pilot's profession and get feedback from aircraft construction students at HAW Hamburg.
The Young Talents Hamburg Klub (YOTA Hamburg) is hosting an “Action Day on Flying” on February 12, 2021 to get children from aged eight interested in flying. Events will be entirely digital due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. YOTA Hamburg is also offering advice online about careers and courses of study. The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, Hamburg Airport, Lufthansa Technik and Deutsche Flugsicherung are all taking part in the event.
