Young people more excited about aviation thanks to "Action Day Flying"

Event on February 21 features talks and workshops

The Young Talents Hamburg Club (YOTA Hamburg) is hosting the 20th “Action Day on Flying” on February 21, 2025 in the Museum of Work in Hamburg-Barmbek. The goal is to get children and young people and adults interested in the aviation industry. YOTA Hamburg will also be offering career guidance. The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW), the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, Hamburg Airport, Lufthansa Technik and Deutsche Flugsicherung are all taking part in the event

Focus on flying sustainably 

Sustainability is central to this year's presentations. Talks will centre e.g., on the Airbus' ZEROe goal of developing a hydrogen passenger aircraft by 2035. Visitors can discover all kinds of novelties in the so-called marketplace between 3.00 and 6.30 p.m. The "YOTA Launching Pad" for careers and courses caters to young people aged between 13 and 20 years and gives them an opportunity to talk to aviation experts. The youths can get to know Airbus, the German Aerospace Centre, Lufthansa Technik, Teccon, Hamburg Airport and the airport fire brigade.

Children and young people gain insight into technical professions through various events thanks to Hamburg Invest's Young Talents Hamburg Club. Advice is available on training or courses of studies in the Hamburg Metropolitan Region from eight years until the end of school. Companies, associations and universities open their doors to children and young people and show them exciting technology. Apprentices can look over their shoulders or lend a hand in workshops.
