AI matchmaking to bring start-ups and innovators together on "Planet Sustainability"
The Hamburg-based start-up Vilisto is gearing up to bring innovators and start-ups together in the B2B online event "Planet Sustainability” on November 19, 2020. The event is essentially matchmaking based on artificial intelligence (AI) and will highlight market-ready sustainable solutions. Topics on the agenda are based on the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nine out of ten start-ups in Germany have been badly hit by the corona crisis and over 70 per cent fear for their existence, a study by the Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e. V. has found. Established companies are also feeling the pressure caused by climate change and must slash emissions and become more sustainable to remain viable in future. Yet, decision-makers often lack an overview of existing sustainable solutions, which poses one of the biggest challenges for start-ups, but opens up a niche for the Planet Sustainability event.

The online event targets innovators with responsibility for decision-making and budgets as well as start-ups with sustainable, tried and tested B2B solutions through targeted matchmaking. Participants receive an individual "hit list" which shows them what percentage of a start-up or an innovator matches them. Speed networking etc. helps participants to start as many conversations as possible.
Resource-saving logistics to alternative agriculture
Stakeholders on Planet Sustainability will focus on the following topics:
- sustainable and energy-efficient buildings
- climate-friendly transport and vehicle fleets
- human and environment-friendly manufacturing and production
- resource-saving materials management and logistics
- social-ecological investments and use of funds
- certifications, seals and CO² balancing
- regenerative energy production and supply
- alternative agriculture, food production and supply.
Intelligent thermostats
The Harburg-based green tech start-up Vilisto is organizing Planet Sustainability with its partners in the industry. (Green tech refers to technology that is deemed environment-friendly because of its production process or supply chain.) Founded in 2016 by Berger, Lasse Stehnken and Christian Brase, the company specializes in automated and demand-orientated heat management based on so-called self-learning thermostats with integrated presence detection.
