Tap into Canadian market with Hamburg Music

4 September 2025
Companies and solo self-employed can apply for delegation trip

The Hamburg Music Initiative has invited companies across Hamburg and the solo self-employed to apply for a delegation trip to Canada this autumn (November 18-22, 2025). The "Music Market Mission Canada" aims to ease access to the North American music market and includes a visit to the "M for Montréal" conference. Freelancers and SMEs have until the deadline of September 7, 2025 to apply and will receive subsidized travel from Hamburg Music.

From Hamburg to the world

Hamburg Music seeks to expand its international activities through the trip to Canada. Delegations have already travelled to Italy, France, Brazil and South Africa as part of the "Hamburg Music International" project. The trips boost the export clout of Hamburg's music industry and expand its global presence.

Music as an economic factor

Hamburg's music industry is one of the strongest in Germany, according to a study commissioned by Hamburg Music and carried out by Oxford Economics. In 2019, the industry generated €1.03 billion or just under 20 per cent of the gross value added in the national music industry.
