Sustainable Aero Lab and TUM Venture Labs join forces

5 January 2024
Merger to strengthen future of sustainable aviation

TUM Venture Labs, launched by the Technical University of Munich and the Entrepreneurship Center Unternehmer TUM for scalable deep-tech and life science start-ups, and the Hamburg-based Sustainable Aero Lab have joined forces to make flying more energy-efficient and sustainable. The goal is to make aviation climate neutral by 2050.

Start-up platform for sustainable aviation

"Sustainable Aero Lab is already the leading accelerator programme for start-ups in sustainable aviation and has worked with over 60 companies worldwide in the last two years," said Stephan Uhrenbacher, founder and Managing Director of Sustainable Aero Lab. Closer links are now being forged with the TUM Venture Labs network to create a leading platform for fledgling companies working on sustainable products and services in aviation. That involves collaborating on events, co-ordinating funding schemes and give start-ups access to each other's resources, such as infrastructure and expertise.
