nextMedia.Hamburg to present award on September 11, 2024 in Hamburg

Journalists Philip Banse and Ulf Buermeyer have won the 2024 Scoop Award for their podcast entitled “Lage der Nation/State of the Nation”. The award will be presented on September 11, 2024 during the Scoopcamp hosted by nextMedia.Hamburg. This year’s conference is being held under the theme of "Financing Strategies for Journalism of the Future".

Their ability to present complex topics in an understandable and technically sound manner as well as their innovative communication and financing strategy, make them the perfect winners of the Scoop Award 2024," said Nina Klaß, Head of nextMedia.Hamburg. Launched in 2016, the podcast is now a firm media fixture with its detailed analyses and well-founded legal perspectives. The presenters value the disclosure of sources and clearly identifying opinions. The "Situation Forum" gives listeners an opportunity to ask questions and give feedback, which boosts interactivity and critical discussions.

Scoopcamp to focus on latest funding models 

Scoopcamp features several keynotes and talks on the future of journalism with particular emphasis on monetisation strategies. The 2024 award winners are considered pioneers of modern funding models. Their podcast "Lage der Nation/State of the Nation" is funded from subscriptions, donations, live events, advertising and sponsorship. These various sources of income, the continuous adaptation to listeners' needs and new designs make the podcast even more relevant.
