Property fair in Cannes

1 March 2024
21 companies at the joint Hamburg stand

Hamburg's real estate industry will once again be competently represented at the leading international real estate trade fair MIPIM in Cannes, France, this year: 21 companies will be exhibiting at the joint Hamburg stand at the Palais Des Festivals from 12 to 15 March 2024 to develop new business and meet key international players and investors. The trade fair brings together the entire value chain and offers exhibitors and guests access to the largest number of property development projects and sources of capital worldwide.

"Hamburg is one of the most attractive property locations in Europe. MIPIM is therefore an important forum for us, focussing on key topics for the future," says Karen Pein, Senator for Urban Development and Housing. "This year, the main focus is on how economic success can be reconciled with sustainability requirements, social action and a changed interest rate and financing landscape. We are showing that the property industry is an important partner that we take seriously and support where necessary. We are therefore streamlining Hamburg's building regulations, digitalising approval processes and helping to reduce construction costs. At the same time, the next building plots are being developed in Hamburg's urban development areas. Opportunities are available and we are the partner for everyone involved in Hamburg's property market."

For Dr Andreas Dressel, Finance Senator of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, the city is one of the most competitive metropolitan regions in Germany and Europe. "Thanks to the best infrastructure, skilled labour and innovative companies, the economy continues to grow. More than almost any other city, Hamburg stands for long-term success and a particularly high quality of life. These are reasons that make Hamburg just as interesting for national and international investors and developers as it is for companies looking to relocate here - even in difficult economic times in the property sector. With the further improved conditions for housing subsidies and heritable building rights, we have additional good arguments in favour of investing in Hamburg."

"The 'Hamburg of tomorrow' is being created through close cooperation between urban society, science and business," adds Dr Rolf Strittmatter, Managing Director of Hamburg Invest. "People are at the centre of attention in Hamburg. Future locations such as Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld or the tecHHub Hamburg establish both technological and social progress in line with our regional innovation strategy. They decide how we want to live and work in the future and create the best conditions for the property industry to choose Hamburg and invest here."

On Wednesday, 13 March at 14:00, HafenCity GmbH invites you to the "Hamburg.HafenCity.Reception", which will be accompanied by a panel discussion.

The Senator for Urban Development and Housing, Karen Pein, the Managing Director of HafenCity GmbH, Dr Andreas Kleinau, and the Managing Director of Hamburg Invest, Dr Rolf Strittmatter, will take part in a panel discussion at this industry get-together.

"Today more than ever, urban development needs innovative ideas and sustainable solutions. At the same time, however, it is also about striking a balance between efficiency and costs," says Dr Andreas Kleinau, CEO of HafenCity Hamburg GmbH. "HafenCity has mastered these complex challenges time and again over the course of its almost 25-year history and has grown as a result. In 2024, it will continue to present itself as a highly dynamic, resilient district with outstanding opportunities for urban and property development. There are also other attractive locations in the new Grasbrook, Billebogen and Science City development areas, which we will be happy to present to all interested parties at MIPIM."

The joint Hamburg stand in the Palais des Festivals is located in"Riviera 8" (stand R8.B20) and covers an area of around 130 square metres.
