Kiel: Schleswig-Holstein is providing some EUR 50 million for producing and storing renewable hydrogen sustainably and for feasibility studies. The European Regional Development Fund is putting EUR 10 million towards these projects. Companies based or operating in Schleswig-Holstein are eligible to apply with priority given to SMEs. Hagenow: The first autonomous, on-demand bus will soon hit roads in the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim. Passengers are not yet allowed, but a driver will remain on board for safety reasons. Passengers will be able to use the on-call buses when the test phase has ended. The Ludwigslust-Parchim transport company is among the pioneers of innovative transport and the on-demand buses will soon be operating autonomously. The project is being funded by the German government.

Linking up bike sharing in metropolitan region
Hamburg Metropolitan Region: Renting a bike anywhere in the metropolitan region and returning it in a different place in the region will soon be possible. Then, borrowers can hop on a train and return home without worries. Over 30 municipalities and organizations are now linking up the various regional bike rental systems and developing joint standards. That should make cycling even healthier and environment-friendlier and appeal to both locals and visitors alike.

Lower Saxony's funding scheme for novel business models
Hanover: A new “InnoGrowth Lower Saxony” for startups, small companies and SMEs is looking for innovative business ideas in e.g., technology, ecology, digitalization or social issues. A total of EUR 50 million is available and will be supervised by the NBank. The funds will be issued to financial intermediaries who pass the money onto companies via equity investments. Take part in the "Über Morgen – Future Festival MV"
Wismar: Everything in Wismar revolves around the future of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania this September. The festival brings together stakeholders in business, education, politics and society. Emphasis is on how people and AI can work together; can society remain united in view of this technology, developing essential skills and achieving equal opportunities. The festival should boost information sharing and networking. The agenda features social aspects, education and business. Start of Lünale 2025
Lüneburg: Applications are now being accepted for the prestigious "Lünale" business awards until the deadline of July 31, 2025. Founders, craft businesses and medium-sized companies are eligible to enter the contest. The awards will be presented on November 14, 2025 in Leuphana University. Last year's winners included Schlosserei Schweitzer and BBL Bahnbau Lüneburg.
