Plüschow: Construction of a new museum for art, culture and education is now underway in Plüschow between Lübeck and Wismar. Dedicated to Bauhaus student Alfred Ehrhardt, it will showcase his works and those of other artists in temporary exhibitions. Star architect Francis Kéré designed the new museum, which is likely to benefit both the cultural scene in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and the local economy. Martin Kopp, a representative of the Northwest Mecklenburg Economic Development Agency, said: "We expect at least 10,000 visitors a year. That means annual revenues in the mid six-figure range for Plüschow. Add hotel reservations and dining in local restaurants to the list." The museum is due to be completed by late 2027.
Ahrensburg: Spectrum Instrumentation’s factory is now being built in the Beimoor-Süd industrial park in Ahrensburg. The high-tech company manufactures measurement technology that is used e.g., in volcanic early warning systems and for researching dolphin communication. Intel and Siemens as well as Harvard University in the U.S. and Oxford University in Britain are among its customers. The new factory in Ahrensburg in Schleswig-Holstein will provide modern, spacious premises for all its divisions – from research to sales.
