Sukow: A new supermarket recently opened in Sukow, a village of 1,500 people around 20 kilometres from Schwerin, at a cost of €540,000 with €150,000 from the state. The opening is part of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania’s “The New Village Centre“ scheme to ensure that villages remain lively. The new shop sells mostly regional products and, of course, a friendly chat is always to be had as well.
Lübeck: AI can be used to research grants, summarize meetings, or translate manuals. However, companies often have individual needs. SMEs can design tailor-made AI applications with developers and designers during the Hanseatic Hackathon (November 14-15, 2025) in Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein. Companies can enter their specific problems, and a jury makes the selection. Then, everyone will put their heads together to come up with solutions. Applications are being accepted until the deadline of September 26. The hackathon is organized by the Hanse Innovation Campus Lübeck and is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research.
