Miniatur Wunderland top attraction in Hamburg

Model railway atop German National Tourist Board's "Top 100" rank

More than 25,000 people from 20 countries have put Miniatur Wunderland atop the German National Tourist Board’s rank of the “Top 100 Most Popular Destinations in Germany" ahead of the Europa-Park in Rust (second) and Phantasialand in Brühl (third ), a press release said Thursday (August 15, 2024). This comes after a survey of visitors to the GNTB website between March and July 2024.

Miniatur Wunderland tops rank for sixth time

"Our vision has always been to create a place that enchants people of all ages and encourages them to dream," said Gerrit Braun, joint founder of Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg. The world's  largest model railway attracts over a million visitors every year. Tiny models of entire landscapes and cities have been created along with a VR tour. The attraction has now topped  the ranking for the sixth time.

Hamburg popular German holiday destination

The City of Hamburg remains one of Germany’s most popular tourist destinations and came 14th . The Elbphilharmonie concert hall jumped from 47th to 21st  place, and the UNESCO-listed Speicherstadt warehouse district scored well in 54th place.
