Visitors to the congress will have an opportunity to see drones up close in the southern exit of the old Elbe tunnel, and to exchange ideas with those behind projects. Exhibitions and demonstrations on 3D printing and sensor technology are also scheduled. Visitors can explore the Innovation Campus as part of the ITS Public Day on October 14, 2021 when the entire exhibition grounds will be open to the public provided people register beforehand.
A container campus in the homePORT, initiated under the auspices of Hamburg Port Authority (HPA), opens in September in time for the ITS World Congress in mid October. Its central OpenLab high-tech workshop (FabLab) offers the general public access to modern, digital manufacturing technologies. The campus in the middle of the port will serve as a focal point for its 50 internal and external members and has facilities for seminars and workshops. The homePORT is set to become a UAV port for the duration of ITS with demonstrations of both airborne and waterborne drones every day.

Urban Tech Playground offers space for innovation
Since early 2021, the real-lab has offered innovators an opportunity to work on solutions for the maritime sector and logistics in the Port of Hamburg. Stakeholders, science, technology companies and start-ups are to be given free space to experiment and to collaborate with others. The real lab gives access to port infrastructures and the so-called "Urban Tech Playground" offers a range of test areas on water, air and land.
