From 5 to 7 October 2026, Hamburg will be showcasing itself at EXPO REAL in Munich – one of Europe’s leading property trade fairs – alongside 54 partners. Companies from the property sector, project developers and municipal stakeholders will be presenting the city’s current projects and development prospects at Hamburg’s joint stand.
"Hamburg is growing and continuing to develop – to achieve this, we need investment and a thriving property sector. After some difficult years, we are seeing more activity in the market again. We want to capitalise on this momentum and, together with our partners, drive forward specific projects such as the Hamburg Standard in housing construction,” says Karen Pein, Hamburg’s Senator for Urban Development and Housing.
One example of how Hamburg is combining new investment with the development of sustainable business locations is the Bergedorf Innovation Park, which the Hamburg Invest business development agency is highlighting. As one of four innovation parks in Hamburg, Bergedorf – with its focus on new energy sources – stands for the close integration of science, business and industrial application. Just under 500 million euros in public and private investment underlines the development of the location. At EXPO REAL, a new location model is, for the first time, clearly illustrating the available building plots and their development potential for businesses and investors.
“EXPO REAL brings us together with companies and investors who are looking for new locations and development opportunities. With the Bergedorf Innovation Park, we have a concrete offering: available sites in a strong environment of research, technology and industry. In Munich, we want to engage in targeted discussions with companies and attract new businesses to the location,” says Dr Rolf Strittmatter, Managing Director of Hamburg Invest.
