Apply now for 2022 - boost for diversity and quality of music in Hamburg

Small music labels now have until the deadline of March 1, 2022 to apply for the first round of grants this year, the Ministry of Culture and Media has announced. The funds are being issued as part of the Hamburg Label Promotion.

Support scheme for diversity of music

Small music companies can receive grants of EUR 3,000 to EUR 10,000 this year from a total of EUR 150,000 available. An expert committee will decide on the recipients of the funds. The scheme allows music labels to take more creative risks and produce artists who would normally have fewer chances of success. That boosts the diversity and quality of music culture in Hamburg. Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media, remarked: "Hamburg's label funding has strengthened the local music scene successfully for years. This year's early funding offer gives operators as much planning flexibility and certainty as possible to continue their important work in future."
