German subsidiary of leading Swiss online retailer Digitec Galaxus triples office space

Galaxus Deutschland, the subsidiary of Switzerland's largest online retailer Digitec Galaxus, is moving to new offices in Hamburg’s Hoheluft-Ost in September. The new building offers three times as much space as the previous office in Altona. Galaxus Germany grew its customer base and increased sales to EUR 286 million or 57 per cent in 2023 over 2022. Earlier in 2024, Sweden’s Alfa Laval relocated its German headquarters to the city and the Otto Group expanded its campus highlighting the city's growing appeal.

Modern central site

Sonja Kunz, Executive Assistant at Galaxus, said the company simply required more space. "We want to offer all our employees sufficient space for their work and for e.g., spontaneous meetings." The new location in the "My Falkenried" complex and the underground train link should make it easier for employees to commute and increase flexibility. The new headquarters include 62 workstations, state-of-the-art offices, meeting and social rooms and a roof terrace. The building also meets all the latest sustainability standards, which was a key factor in the decision to relocate.

Galxus to grow  in Germany

Galaxus also plans to open a new logistics centre in Neuenburg am Rhein, which should create up to 1,000 new jobs by 2025. Galaxus has increased the appeal of its platform and boosted customer growth. Among its unique selling points is a guarantee and returns rate launched in 2023. Shoppers in the online shop see how often purchased products are returned and the frequency of breakages during the warranty period.
