Stephan Uhrenbacher, founder and CEO of Sustainable Aero Lab, said: "Embraer-X's backing will allow us to elevate our mentorship scheme for aviation start-ups to new heights." Both aviation schemes pool resources, infrastructure and expertise for start-ups and should lead to advancements in sustainable flying. Daniel Moczydlower, CEO of Embraer-X, remarked: "We want to combine synergies to inspire and connect with the ecosystem at the service of accelerating the energy transition of air transport, anticipating the future of totally sustainable aviation that we all want to build."
The Hamburg-based Sustainable Aero Lab for start-ups in aviation has announced an official partnership with Brazil's Embraer-X, an Embraer incubator and market accelerator specialized in disruptive innovation. Embraer counts among the world's largest aircraft manufacturers alongside Airbus and Boeing. As part of the partnership, Embraer-X will take part in Sustainable Aero Lab's mentoring scheme and give participating companies easier access to the Embraer ecosystem. Embraer-X's innovation and venture activities will be more closely linked to the Lab.

Sustainable Aero Lab heading for success
The Sustainable Aero Lab lends even more support to Hamburg's goal of transforming the many levels of aviation. Founded in 2021, the lab has worked with 60 companies worldwide. Several times a year, start-ups are brought together with mentors in aviation, business and venture capital in live sessions. The lab is essentially a think tank and encourages decarbonization in commercial aviation. The Sustainable Aero Lab recently joined forces with TUM Venture Labs to pool resources. The new partnership with Embraer-X is likely to take the expertise of participating start-ups to the next level. The Sustainable Aero Lab is also backed by IFB Hamburg and Breakthrough Energy.
