Around 620 concertgoers are allowed in the Grand Hall and 550 in the Laeiszhalle's Grand Hall. Around 125 can be seated in the Elbphilharmonie's Kleiner Saal and 170 in the Laeiszhalle's Recital Hall. Several concerts will be performed twice e.g. at 6.30 pm and at 9 pm. Masks are compulsory in the corridors, but not in the concert halls and foyers.
NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra to give first concert of 2020/21 season
The Elphilharmonie is expected to announce performances in the 2020/21 concert season, which begins in September, by the end of July. Advance ticket sales begin on August 4, 2020. However, only one-third of seats in the Laeiszhalle can be filled to comply with social distancing requirements. This comes after a new law, announced on June 30, 2020 permits events in closed spaces.

Brahms and Prokofiev for reopening
The NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra will perform the opening concerts conducted by Alan Gilbert. From September 1 to 5, all of Johannes Brahms' symphonies will be performed in seven concerts, supplemented in each case by violin concertos by Sergei Prokofiev with soloists Lisa Batiashvili and Leonidas Kavakos.
Advance sales from August subject to changes
Due to travel restrictions on the artists and on-stage distance requirements, the events and performers may change. However, replacement events will be offered. Subscribers and customers will be given prior notice and will be given a right of first refusal for possible replacement events. General advance sales for Hamburg Musik events and those of NDR and other event organisers begin on August 4, 2020.
