Companies and institutions all over Hamburg exhibiting young artists' works

Twenty companies and institutions across Hamburg are exhibiting young artists' paintings, photographs, street art, experimental art, and AI works to celebrate the 10th Add Art from November 16-19, 2023. A number of companies are exhibiting works by students and alumni of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW) alongside those of established artists in their collections.

"Add Art has given Hamburg creative energy and artistic inspiration for the last ten years," said Dr. Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media. The cultural event broadens access to art and puts it on the corporate agenda. The annniversary events include a special exhibition by the Hamburg-based artist Rupprecht Matthies while up-and-coming artists will be selling smaller works of art. An updated web page should gives users a better overview. Young artists can also attend workshops to better position themselves on the market.

Street art to experimental contemporary art

The digital agency Sitegeist will present artists such as Banksy, Shepard Fairey (Obey) and Mr. Brainwash in an exhibition entitled "Streetgeist - the Urban Streetart Collection" while the healthcare company Lohmann Konzept has experimental contemporary art on offer as well as works by Harald A. Finke for the first time this year. Eight new companies including the communication agency, Storypark, are offering space for artists' works. The focus is on art in the era of AI. Twenty works by HAW students are on display, including at the Chamber of Commerce. Add Art gives young artists an opportunity to win the Award for Young Artists consisting of a jury prize of EUR 2,000 and an audience prize of EUR 1,000.

75 companies, 180 young artists

Different companies and new young artists have taken part in Add Art since 2013. A total of 75 companies  have opened their doors and staged exhibitions. Until now, 180 HAW students and former students have seized the opportunity of Add Art to present their works. Over the years, Add Art has developed into an institution, said Brosda. The relevance of such art events for companies will increase in future as business must be "multidimensional", he added.
