"Many tourists from different countries, who were on summer holidays, as well as residents of Hamburg attended the fair," said Dr Melanie Leonhard, Senator for Economics, adding that fair underway since July 21 had met expectations. North Germany's largest fair attracted people from the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts and the entire metropolitan region despite the changeable weather in July. "We have no influence on the weather. But we can create an atmosphere and mood on the square and give people a great time for a few hours even if it rains. We have done that successfully and attracted 1.5 million visitors," said Sascha Belli, Chairman of the Landesverband des Ambulanten Gewerbes und der Schausteller Hamburg e.V. "
Around 1.5 million flocked to Hamburg's Summer Fair, which ended Sunday (August 20, 2023), to enjoy the ferris wheel and bumper car rides and many other amusements. Carnival people expressed satisfaction with the fair despite the bad weather in July.
