Funding and financing issues

All information on the subsidies

Funding programmes exist at federal level, in the federal states and from the European Union. The conditions and guidelines of these funding programmes are regularly revised and adapted to current developments. New programmes are introduced, while others are discontinued.

Hamburg offers a variety of incentives for foreign investors by providing a wide range of programmes tailored to the requirements of economic activities at different stages of the investment process.

The support programmes in Hamburg are available through various public financing instruments and serve different financing purposes. Each funding programme defines sectors and forms of investment (such as new establishments or expansions) that are eligible for funding. There are also specific criteria (such as company size, planned location of the investment project, degree of innovation, etc.) that determine the level of individual investment incentives.

The range of funding options extends from loans to secure your liquidity or finance working capital, to public funding in the areas of business, innovation and the environment, to labour-related and R&D incentives.

Find out how your investment project can benefit from public funding and financing programmes. Many of the federal and state funding programmes are refinanced by EU funding. There are also EU funding programmes for which German companies are eligible to apply.
