"Novels have been finished, exhibitions conceived, plots designed, painted, photographed and proofread at Mareverlag's Künstlerhaus. But people have also cooked together, talked to each other and made plans," said Dr Carsten Brosda, Senator for Culture and Media. Nikolaus Gelpke, founder of the Roger Willemsen Foundation, remarked: "The fact that we are able to continue the collaboration with the Ministry of Culture for the fifth year is fortunate. Especially in these times, you can't give enough support to artists." The building in Wentorf was the last residence of author, essayist and former TV presenter Roger Willemsen, and has been available as an artist's residence since 2018.
