DASHH involves the University of Hamburg, the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY), the Technical University of Hamburg, the Helmut Schmidt University, the Helmholtz Centre Geesthacht, the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter (MPSD), the European XFEL GmbH and the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. "The award is both a well-deserved distinction and an important impetus for the research location of Hamburg. The interface between data science and natural sciences holds enormous potential for innovation, which we want to harness for science and society together with our outstanding research institutions and universities," said Katharina Fegebank, Senator for Science, Research and Equality. The award illustrates the importance of co-operation in science and research. "The combined expertise of strong partners accelerates scientific progress and strengthens the promotion of young scientists."
