The winning teams of the Startup-Champs 2022

27 June 2022
In Hamburg, the best startups in the field of mobility and logistics were honoured as Startup-Champs.

Among the 31 participants in the competition from Berlin, Cologne, Munich and Hamburg, the startup Aparkado came out on top with its pitch. The Cologne-based app is designed to make work easier for lorry drivers with an intelligent parking guidance system, a loading ramp guide and other services. For the Hamburg region, Katharina Kreutzer, the co-founder of Boomerang, convinced the jury with her pitch.

Boomerang wants to tackle the problem of packaging waste in online trade and replace disposable cartons with a reusable system for shipping goods. In the other regions, Wirelane and Avocargo won the title of regional champ. The special prize was won by the Munich-based start-up logistics.cloud.

The winners were chosen by a jury of four experts. The finalists were selected in an open vote by the community. People voted for one startup each via the website. The three with the most votes from Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and Munich were invited to pitch in Hamburg for the final.

As Hamburg's regional champion, Bommerang will be able to attend SLUSH 2022 in Helsinki and pitch to investors at a side event. In addition, the regional champions have the opportunity to go on a trip to the USA. They will receive the participation fee for the South by Southwest Pitch 2023 in Austin, Texas and can attend the Future of Mobility Congress in Chicago for free.

There's more in store for the winners Apokado. Of course, the champs also go to SLUSH 2022 and South by Southwest 2023, but in Texas they get to attend the Invitation Only networking event with investors in addition. On top of that, they get two free tickets to the IFA in Berlin and a get-together with Heise Medien. At the Future of Mobility they will also receive a travel expense bonus of €1000.

The special winners of logistics.cloud will also receive an invitation to come to Texas and pitch at South by Southwest.

The four startup hotspots Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and Munich say they want to use their cooperation to lay a foundation stone to further advance Germany as a startup location and increase the visibility of German young companies nationally and internationally. The coordination of the Startup-Champs competition for Hamburg was taken over by the business development agency Hamburg Invest.
