Metro, express and night buses, as well as the Alsterdorf subway stop and the Hamburg Airport suburban train stop, ensure quick accessibility for employees, business partners and visitors. There are also well-developed pedestrian and bicycle paths. Since 2017, the Health Innovation Port has supported health startups with mentoring, events and infrastructure - an innovation hub shaping medical futures. Northh Medical, inspired by Philips, developed the 'smart-sync' MRI device that enables high-resolution images of fetal hearts. As a certified medical device, it allows timing of unborn children's heart action with MRI and complements ultrasound diagnostics in the detection of congenital heart defects in routine clinical practice.

Business park Hamburg-North on climate course

The district of Hamburg-North is pursuing ambitious goals in climate protection and would like to make the Hamburg-North business park a showcase area for sustainable business in the north. In cooperation with resident companies, the Economic Development Department and Climate Protection Management are supporting the establishment of a climate protection network, accompanied by partners such as the Hamburg chamber of crafts, the Hamburg chamber of commerce and the Environmental Partnership. Synergies are to be created through the exchange of successful climate protection projects and the networking of companies. Participants also have the chance to play an active role in the area's development and receive information about consulting and funding opportunities. Companies such as Desitin Arzneimittel GmbH, Hamburg Airport, Düllberg Konzentra and the planned Handwerksquartier #H15 are already involved.

Connectivity

The Hamburg-North business park can be reached directly via the A7 federal motorway, an important artery in northern Germany. Lufthansa Technik

Lufthansa Technik AG is a leading provider of aircraft maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification services. It is embedded in a broad network of more than 35 operating subsidiaries and affiliates in the EMEA region, the Asia-Pacific region and the Americas. In 1994, Lufthansa's Supervisory Board decides to transform MRO into an independent business segment. That year, Hamburg becomes the headquarters of the newly founded Lufthansa Technik AG. Today, more than 7,000 employees work on the more than 750,000-square-meter Hamburg site with its numerous hangars, workshops and office buildings. This site in particular is used for the conversion of passenger aircraft into private jets, the maintenance of aircraft with special, often scientific missions, and the provision of technical services for military aircraft. It is also home to one of the world's largest engine shops for the repair of civil aircraft engines.

Philips

In 1926, the German branch of the Dutch technology group Philips is founded in Berlin. In 1946, the then Philips Deutschland GmbH (today Philips GmbH) moves into its headquarters in Hamburg. With the production of industrial goods such as radios, dry shavers and phonographs and tape recorders, over the years it becomes one of the largest companies in the German electronics industry. In medical technology, the world's first images of the human head using the magnetic resonance tomography method are presented here in the research laboratory in 1984. Since the corporate reform "Vision 2010", Philips GmbH has been divided into three divisions: Health Systems (medical technology), Lighting (light and lamps; today: Signify) and Personal Health (medicine and household electronics). In addition to the corporate headquarters, the directorates of the three main divisions as well as the Philips Technologie GmbH research laboratories and the production facilities of its healthcare products with a total of approximately 3,300 employees are located in Hamburg.

Desitin Arzneimittel

Desitin Arzneimittel GmbH is a medium-sized pharmaceutical company with a presence in Germany, Scandinavia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and selected Eastern European countries. The company emerged from Carl Klinke GmbH, founded in Hamburg in 1919, and from Desitin, founded in Berlin in 1922, as Desitin-Werk Carl Klinke GmbH. Its nearly 300 employees are mainly based in Hamburg, where they develop, manufacture and procure pharmaceuticals, test them and release them for worldwide shipment. In addition to the production of drugs for the therapy of neurological and psychiatric diseases (mostly for patients with epilepsy and Parkinson's disease), the company also offers training and scientific information for doctors and pharmacists, as well as therapy support services for patients.

Hamburg Airport Cargo Center

The new Hamburg Airport Cargo Center (HACC) was built at Hamburg Airport in 2016. An air cargo hall with 20,000 square meters of logistics space replaces the old building from the 1960s. The site, which covers a total of 60,000 square meters, provides 44 loading bays and 36 truck parking spaces, as well as three office buildings. 150 air freight companies with more than 1,500 employees are located directly in the vicinity of the airport, handling the delivery of aircraft and ship spare parts, consumer electronics or chemical products as well as the transshipment of textile goods for their customers. The catchment area of Hamburg Airport's air freight location extends further than the 200-kilometer radius, all the way to the south of Denmark. The HACC can handle up to 150,000 tons of cargo annually - more than double the volume handled in 2015.

Coffema International

For more than 50 years, Coffema International GmbH has been selling commercial coffee machines and offering comprehensive service in maintenance, repair and module refurbishment, among other things. The company is owned by the Nilsson family of entrepreneurs and has its headquarters in the immediate vicinity of Hamburg Airport. The company has 280 employees. In Germany, Coffema has a further ten branch locations; internationally, subsidiaries in Poland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland and Dubai are active for the company. In 52 other countries, partner organizations stand for worldwide sales and services at Coffema level. With a broad product portfolio including espresso machines, coffee grinders, water systems and fully automatic coffee machines, a large selection of brands and services ranging from purchase, rental, leasing or billing on a per-cup basis, Coffema can respond to individual customer requirements.

Satair Group

Satair A/S was founded in Denmark in 1957. The company's core business is trading of spare parts for aircraft. With more than 1,000,000 components in stock, Satair is a leading global provider of innovative aftermarket services and solutions for customers with multiple fleets (Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Bombardier and general aviation). More than 1,700 employees work for the company at ten locations worldwide. In 2014, Airbus Material & Logistics Management and Satair A/S merged to form Satair Group. Together they now offer services in spare parts management, spare parts service and support for all aircraft types. The Satair Group is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, and in Kastrup, Denmark.
